Qatar has the largest single non-associated natural gas reservoir on the planet – comprising approximately 14% of the world’s reserves. This makes it the ideal location for Shell’s first world-scale GTL plant. GTL Fuel is a revolutionary transport fuel made by converting natural gas to a cleaner burning liquid.

Materials and equipment for the plant, including 50,000 tons of piping and 1,800km of cables, will come from all five continents. This vast, pioneering project will allow us to take a giant leap forward in making cleaner fuels a global reality.
